 Dear Friends and Family,

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Over the course of seven weeks, from January 18th to March 9th our dedicated team will be competing alongside student candidate teams from across the Rocky Mountain Region to raise funds that will make a real difference in the fight against blood cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a prominent voluntary health organization committed to funding research for blood cancers and enhancing the well-being of patients and their families. They strive to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma while offering valuable resources, education, and support to patients, survivors, families, and healthcare professionals. Their "Student of the Year" program encourages candidates to raise funds in honor of young local patients battling or in remission from blood cancer, fostering essential skills in fundraising and community engagement.

My name is Addyson Scott, and my mission pillar for this campaign is "Patient Support." This deeply personal mission has been forged by my own family's journey through the challenges of cancer. In particular, my mother's battle with breast cancer has been a source of inspiration for me.

Cancer isn't just a diagnosis; it's a relentless foe that affects not only patients but their entire families. Witnessing my mother's strength and determination in her fight against breast cancer has fueled my commitment to patient support. I believe that no one should endure the emotional, physical, and financial burdens of cancer alone. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society stands at the forefront of the battle against blood cancer, funding research for cures and providing crucial support to patients and their families. Their tireless efforts are a beacon of hope for countless individuals facing the challenges of cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to providing information, resources and support to those affected by blood cancers.

I've assembled a remarkable multi-generational team of friends and family to join me in this campaign. Together, we are determined to raise both funds and awareness for LLS. By doing so, we aim to alleviate some of the financial stress associated with cancer treatment and contribute to groundbreaking research that brings us closer to a world without blood cancer.
